I know, I know it has been almost 2 months. Easter has come and gone, as has Mother's Day, we've had opening day of softball season, Mikayla's 11th birthday, Brianna graduated from 6th grade, and the last day of school. Well, yesterday June 1 @8:49 am Little Miss Molly Mae Boone made her entrance into the world. She weighed 8# and 8oz. and was 20 inches long. She is our 4th Great niece. I'm told she looks just like her mom. (John's sister, mamaw, made it to the hospital in time. ) Her brother just had a birthday last month. Maybe I will get to see everyone of them in a couple of weeks. Our niece Kelly is getting married on June 13. It's been a little under a year since I've seen anyone!!!! I work every weekend and it is really starting to get old I miss so much with my family.
Brianna got hit at the ball field last night and has stitches form the ball on her ankle. She now has her own email account and instant messenger. We have told her that she can only be on 3 hours a day. Well Mikayla, goes on and Brianna's friends start IM conversation and Mikayla has to get off. So Brianna has to log off now. Brianna is catching, pitching and playing all infield positions. Mikayla is jumping out of the way so we think that this will probably be her last softball year. Brianna signed up to run cross country next year, shades of her daddy, he ran all through high school. We took her in for her physical last Thursday. Mikayla has decided to play tennis when she gets to jr. high. The flute and saxophone playing is going well.
We lost my big Buddy kitty last Thursday morning....He choked to death. When I brought him home he never meowed and when he tried to purr he choked. Whoever he belonged to before us had really done a number on him. At least he had a good last of his life. I told John that I'm not bringing another animal home from work. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Everyone is adjusting to the out of school boredom. Not too many big fights between the girls. John and I have talked about going to Holiday World, a zoo somewhere, and daycations. Hopefully we will get through softball season and be able to go.

Spring Break
I know its been awhile... Brianna turned 12 on the 18th. She is growing into quite the little lady. We went to Tammy's Beauty Shop a couple of times, and someone had brought 4 totes full of clothes and she made out like a bandit, but she still has nothing to wear!!! (I remember having this arguement with my mom.) Mikayla didn't get as many and she was mad (but she is so skinny. ) I think both the girls are going to have the Myers' feet. Brianna has caught up with me and Mikayla is right behind. Softball is getting ready to start, in fact they were supposed to practice last night but the coach called it because it was soooooooooo cold. Last week was Spring break. We didn't go anywhere. I think the girls had a good time. I know I did. One day we spent buying new softball gear. John had laser sugery and the girls learned how to text. ( Even though it was to each other it killed some time.) Mikayla read 2 of the Lemony Snicket books. They went to the school for basketball practice. I've been going to the chiropractor since last Monday every other day.
The highlight of the week for me was the Parish Mission. The speaker was Father Christopher Crotty and he was amazing. I was touched by the Holy Spirit as was John. Our marriage is so much stronger (not that we had any problems) but we grew so much closer because of this mission. There is no way to explain what happened but it was AMAZING and AWESOME.
Now we start Holy Week....How awesome is it that Jesus loved us enough to endure his Passion?! He is the Paschal Lamb, Our Redeemer, Our Salvation, King of Kings! I Love and praise OUR Father. Thank you for not giving up on your children, Heavenly Father. Thank you for giving us your Son. Hope all who read this know that we are nothing without the love of the Holy Trinity. God Bless everyone and Have a Happy Easter. God's Love and Peace to all.

Solo and Ensemble Contest
It's been a rough couple of weeks. I had the stupid stomach flu, ARGH!!!!! This week the girls had the other virus going around. (The one with all the congestion and fever). The Band Solo and Ensemble Contest was this past weekend, February 14. Brianna received 2 silvers but was ripped off. I'm not just saying that because she's excellant; but her band director (I'm told) had a few choice words for the judge. This judge hardly gave any of the contestants golds. Brianna's piccolo solos was right at 8:30 and they arrived at Southridge at approximately 8:15. Brianna's CD for her accompaniment wouldn't play for her flute solo. Mikayla started flipping out at 9:30 that she needed to practice, I guess she had a case of the nerves. Mikayla received a gold. She really liked her judge.
Now we are practicing for the talent show in March that all 4th through 6th graders get to participate in. Brianna says she playing her flute. Mikayla is singing a couple of Alvin and the Chipmunks songs with a couple of friends. Of course, she's Alvin!!!
The next thing for band will be the 4th Annual Music Festival at Holiday World in May. Last year the 5th grade band (Brianna's) beat the other two mentary bands, Barr Reeve's 6th grade and South Knox's 6th grade.

Back to Normal.....Maybe
Well all the snow and ice are almost gone and Dr. Harmon just called and the kids are going back to school at the regular time. What time would that be??? LOL!!!!! Mikayla and John are at a basketball tourney at South Knox and Brianna is practicing her flute and piccolo solos. Yes, the contest was cancelled until Feb. 14. This is the last home game of Brianna's cheering for this year and she will be at the contest. This was also Mikayla's last home game of the year. She has a game on February 19 at Bloomfield. John just called the 5th grade is done in the tourney....They played Washington Hatchets and it wasn't pretty. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! John's mom didn't have her surgery because of the weather. April and Kevin found out they were having a little girl. Brianna is quite pleased with the name.....MAGGIE MAE. (Brianna is thinking after her.)
Dozer now fetches anything; apples, oranges, frozen eggs, the girls HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! They broke every tote lid I have that was big enough to ride on. OH WELL, It was so funny watching them play.
The weathermen are calling for spring this next week, does that mean flooding????

Winter Storm
Snow, sleet, rain, more snow.....No School today.....Brianna and Mikayla went out for about a hour. The beagle from across the street was under the house hunting rabbits this morning. I thought maybe he was stuck but the rabbit kept going back under. Dozer, our new addition, didn't seem to like him. Dozer is a 3 year old white lab. We got him from someone who came in the Viking Mart. They were moving and couldn't take him. He is the greatest. Okay, that's three cats, two rabbits, and one dog that I've brought home from VM. The last time it snowed the girls got one of the lids off a big tote and tied him to it and he pulled them around the yard. We told them they couldn't do that this morning because he didn't seem to like the neighbor's dog. John is telling me they are calling off school in Dubois County tomorrow already. I've already got someone to take my place at VM tomorrow. The girls probably won't have school tomorrow either. It has started freezing rain now I can hear it hitting the windows. John and Mikayla were supposed to get their hair cut tonight after school and before basketball practice. Can't see that happening now. Mikayla has become quite the scrappy guard in basketball. At Washington Catholic she played alot and in the Loogootee game she got to guard her cousin Bayley. She thought that was pretty neat. Of course, I didn't get to see her play. Brianna has had a ton of homework this semester and she has started playing the piccolo as well as the flute. This Saturday, January 31, both the girls are going to Southridge to play in a solo contest. They both sound really good. Mikayla's solo is called Nocturne and it is so pretty sounding. She played it Monday and the band diredtor said it was great!!!! She doesn't think so (Mikayla). This is the first year for Mikayla to go. Brianna went last year and got a gold. This year she is taking a division IV solo for her flute and a V for the piccolo.
Yesterday at work, we kept telling everyone they were calling for up to 9 inches of snow by Wednesday morning. Looks like they were right on with the forecast. Wonder how busy they are? It's funny how I think about VM when I have a day off. I guess I miss the people that come in daily and the friendly conversations. It may just be a hello and have a nice day but I miss it when I'm not there. I thought about calling and talking to see how everything's going but that sounds kinda lame. Did call Jill earlier to see if she would work for me tomorrow.
John's mom called earlier and told us she was having cateract surgery early Thursday morning IF the weather is better. I know this is a routine operation but if whoever reads this would just keep her in their prayers I'd appreciate it. Tomorrow night I have a friendship group that started meeting every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. These ladies are helping me with my 4th day journey. John was supposed to meet with his tonight and it has already been cancelled.
John has made some yummy yeast rolls and beef and noodles. Post more later. Lea Ann

One Week til Christmas
Brianna and Mikayla's list keep getting longer....We told them about a month ago that there really wasn't a Santa Claus that it was mommy and daddy...Brianna "knew" but wasn't for sure because the kids in her class had told her....Mikayla was the same way but really wanted to believe still....We told them that sometimes people will sponsor kids, which is what happened to them last year (SO many presents). Brianna wants a cell phone. I just don't want them disappointed by the lack of them this year.
We are trying to teach them that Christmas is not about the presents but about our Savior's birth. God sent His Wonderful Son to us for our redemption and salvation. Jesus took all our sins on Himself so we can be with Him in His Father's House and at His Father's table. He Loves us so much.

A Day in the Life
I have just finished a typical Monday. Got to work at 3 in the morning, got off work at 1 pm and did a few errands then went to school to wait on Brianna to get finished with tutoring at 4. I figured we would pass John and Mikayla on their way back in for basketball practice. We didn't we got to see them for about 15 minutes before they left to go back into the school.
Brianna and I ate and she practiced her flute for 45 minutes. She is so good!!! Sunday is hers and Mikayla's Christmas Band Concert. Mikayla is becoming quite the saxophone player, too. Maybe for Christmas we will get a digital camara and be able to put pics on the blog.
